Nykole  is the co-host for the Walk For Freedom in Peoria IL, a global movement sponsored by A21 promoting advocacy and awareness, with the goal of abolishing human trafficking.
Nykole is an Emergency Nurse with more than 20 years of prehospital/emergency department experience, has an extensive background as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), and has worked in several level 1 trauma centers. In addition, she has been an advocate for those facing human trafficking, and has worked to spread awareness and build rescue programs for those facing these challenges. She has served as a guest lecturer for Peoria Area EMS on the topic of human trafficking, and has trained multiple Fire and EMS departments in central Illinois on the topic. Nykole also served as a key consultant on the Peoria Area EMS's human trafficking protocol, one of the first EMS Systems to adopt such a protocol.
Nykole maintains that all human trafficking is modern-day slavery, and although it is the fastest growing crime, it is one that every single person can STOP through awareness, prevention, and ultimately through rescue. She asserts that if we can help everyone to have eyes to see, and the boldness to act, that we can end trafficking in our lifetime.
