APRN Essentials Workshop (October 21, 2025)

Skills On Point, LLC was founded in 2017 by John Russell, DNP, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, CCRN, RNFA, to provide advanced practice professionals with expert-led instruction to simplify the privileging process.
Primary Care Track Office Skills (8:30 am - 11:30 am) - 3.0 Contact Hours
A 3-hour course that includes all necessary consumables and instruction, covering local anesthesia, punch, shave, and excisional biopsy, common dermatological complaints, cryotherapy, fluorescein staining and Woods lamp use, digital blocks, abscess incision and drainage, packing, paronychia release, subungual hematoma trephination, ring removal, and more, as time allows. There is virtual lifetime access to the Skills On Point CE portal, which includes videos to reinforce this learning, all at no cost. No experience in office procedures is required to attend this session.
Acute Care Track Point of Care Ultrasound (12:30 pm - 3:30 pm) - 3.0 Contact Hours
This 3 hour course is will include hands-on training with real ultrasound machines and cover the following: ultrasound basics, "knobology", probe types, applications, real life clinical scanning on partners for musculoskeletal, orthopedic, vascular, and trauma applications including injection in ultrasound phantom gel blocks, use of arterial line catheters to make vascular puncture and demonstrate short and long axis approaches with/without seldinger technique, color flow with arterial demonstration of the palmer arch, cardiac phased view providing limited 2D echo landmarks, FAST exam landmarks and findings. No experience with ultrasonography is required to attend this session. As students will be scanning each other, it is recommended that they wear loose-fitting clothing, allowing their arms to be exposed to the elbow.
