What is the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing (ISAPN)?

The Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing (ISAPN) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting and advocating for Illinois’ advanced practice registered nurses. ISAPN’s goal is to provide supports for advanced practice registered nurses through education programs and collaboration with other professionals. In addition, ISAPN advocates for APRNs through collaboration with legislators and Illinois’ elected officials.

An Organization Focused on Advanced Practice Nursing

According to the American Nurses Association, advanced practice registered nurses are “nurses who have met advanced educational and clinical practice requirements, and often provide services in community-based settings. APRNs’ services range from primary and preventive care to mental health to birthing to anesthesia.” The ISAPN has been designed to advocate specifically for these advanced practice nurses.

Benefits for Advance Practice Nurses

The ISAPN has a number of perks for members. APRNs looking to ask questions of their peers can do so via ISAPN’s APRN 2 APRN monthly calls. The ISAPN regularly participates in and hosts events focused on professional connection and education, and members receive reduced rates for continuing education credits. If you’re looking to make a job change, the ISAPN’s career center also has wide-range of job posts. Lastly, if you join ISAPN, you’ll be part of an organization that advocates for YOU -- not only as a professional, but also through strategic action and legislation.
