What is your area of practice/specialty?

Pediatrics

 

If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go and why? 

Checking out new countries with my family is one of my favorite ways to use my PTO--next on our list are Ireland, Netherlands and Belgium.

 

How many years have you worked in healthcare? 

14 years. 

 

What inspired you to become a member of ISAPN?

I really like how ISAPN keeps its members up to date with laws being passed at the state level that are going to affect APNs.

 

What is your favorite book?

I don't have a favorite--but I just started a book club and love getting to know new genres!

 

If you couldn't be an APRN, what other job would you try?

Nursing is a second career for me. In my former career, I worked in PR and the nonprofit world as a fundraiser and event planner. So...that! 

 

How has being a member of ISAPN benefited you?

Laws are constantly changing for APNs in IL and I love being in the know thanks to ISAPN. I also love the access to conferences.

 

If you could go back in time and give yourself advice as a student. What would it be? 

Put yourself in the shoes of others--whether it's your patient, their family member or another provider. It will allow you to see the whole picture.
