Welcome back from the Holiday week! Let’s start the month off right with what matters, shining a light on our amazing ISAPN members. This week’s ISAPN member is Ollie Rogers. Learn why she joined ISAPN, and why others should too.

Ollie Rogers

What are your credentials?

DNP, FPA, APRN, BC

How long have you been a member of ISAPN?

At least 5 years (I think)

What is your area of practice/specialty?

Family Practice /Primary Care

If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go and why?

That's a tough one. I want to go EVERYWHERE!!  I love learning about other cultures. I have traveled to 49 of the 50 states (North Dakota is waiting). Continents are up next, starting with Europe this summer. Traveling is my absolute favorite!

How many years have you worked in healthcare?

I started healthcare at St. Bernard Hospital as a ward clerk/nursing assistant in 1992.

What inspired you to become a member of ISAPN?

I longed to be a part of an organization founded by nursing leaders facilitating professional growth and development. I feel fortunate to be connected to professionals dedicated to advocating for overall advancement of APRNs.

What is your favorite book?

I have three favorite books which I required my children to read: 1. The Four Agreements 2. Native Son 3. The Five Love Languages

If you couldn't be an APRN, what other job would you try?

I always had an interest in mortuary science.

How has being a member of ISAPN benefited you?

The ability to network with a number of phenomenal providers from different disciplines has been rewarding. Truly rewarding.

If you could go back in time and give yourself advice as a student. What would it be?

Ummm... I am one of those people that believes everything that happens is for a reason. I can't go back. Nope. No change of trajectory.
